The first ever Corporate Cycling Championship was organized at Salt Lake Sector V on August 13, 2017, to promote and initiate an awareness campaign – Clean and Green Sector V. The event was organized by Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA), in association with Cycle Network Grow, West Bengal Cycling Association, Salt Lake Sector V Stakeholders’ Association, and NASSCOM. The event was flagged off by Shri. Firhad Hakim, Honourable Minister, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal, Shri. Sujit Bose, MLA, Bidhan Nagar, West Bengal, and Shri. Debasish Sen, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, IT Dept. & Chairman NDITA, at Nalban Fishery Food Park at 7 AM. Among the other dignitaries present during the flag-off ceremony was Shri. S. Radhakrishnan, President, Salt Lake Sector V Stakeholders’ Association, Shri. Kamal Agarwal Chairman, SME Council – EC, NASSCOM, Shri. A.K. Sood from Infinity Group and several others. Over 300 participants, who are working professionals from Salt Lake Sector V, took part in three categories of cycle racing Fast Cycling, Slow Cycling, and Fun Ride. Some of the companies who participated were Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, IXIA, mjunction, Wipro, Infinity, PwC, TCG Digital and many more.
